Often times we draw the line by ourselves between what we think we can and we can't. I think one can display greater ability by giving oneself unlimited possibility.

Inspiration

I almost always have my music with me wherever I am; at home, outside, just about anywhere. I can't live without music, and it greatly helps me get inspired. This is an illustration about a relationship between me and music.

Kindness

"You don't need a reason to be kind"
There always seems to be some sort of reason to hurt or be mean to someone, but I think you don't really need a reason to be nice and kind to others.

Happiness

"You won't know what real happiness is unless you know what it's like to be in pain, to be hurt."

Progress

A haiku and an illustration about whether something is successful or unsuccessful, whether you win or lose, is defined by its process, not the result.

Tancredi

This is a book cover illustration of a story called "Tancredi" It's about a man with two heads, one good and one evil. I wanted to depict how there are both good and evil in everyone without being too obvious.

This is an illustration of a story how some people work too much and don't have enough time for their private lives.

Book dummy from the past...

This is a children's book dummy I made when I was around 13 or 14 years old. The story is based on my own experience of the time when I moved to Canada for a few years as a child.

"One day, Junko arrived at an airport with her mom. As she looked around and saw unfamiliar people, she thought..."

"Wow... brown hair, blond hair, red hair... they're so beautiful! Why is my hair black...?"

"I got it! Hair color changes if I stay here!"

"'What hair color do I want? Brown? But blond is also good..' Junko excitedly waited her hair color to change but..."
"Her hair color stayed black in the morning and at night."


"One day, Junko got into a new school. She felt uncomfortable being the only kid with black hair, but then..."
"Everyone gathered around her saying, 'Wow, you have such pretty black hair!'"

"That night, Junko looked herself in a mirror and thought, 'Maybe this black hair isn't bad after all... Maybe this black hair is only for me!'"
"Ever since that day, Junko proudly had her black hair down."

This actually is a true story, and I really thought my hair color would change..!! All Japanese people have black hair (unless dyed), and it was pretty shocking for a 5 year-old kid who had never been outside her country!!
